The Sony Digital Voice Recorder w/ Built-in USB lets you record a variety of sounds and voices in extreme clarity with minimal background noise thanks to auto voice recording. This stereo digital voice recorder also has built-in USB for easy file transfer and expandable memory. With as much as 55 hours of battery life and adjustable microphone settings, the ICD-PX470 recorder gives you plenty of versatility.
Adjustable Microphone Range
Get clearer voices thanks to adjustable mic settings. When recording in a single voice, you can capture a narrow field of sound from one direction with Focus mode. When in a meeting, you can use Wide-Stereo mode to open up the range and capture everyone in the room. You can further optimize audio settings by choosing one of four scene pre-sets: music, meeting, interview and dictation.
Reduce Unwanted Background Noise
Eliminate unwanted low-frequency background noises with the low cut filter. Projectors, traffic or wind will distort your recording, but you can filter those sounds out to focus on the voices.
Another way to reduce background noise is Auto Voice Recording, which optimizes audio capture settings for vocal frequencies. This gives you a purer recording that isolates a person's voice. Clear Voice technology further cleans up the signal when you play your recording back.
Transcription Playback Mode
Review your recordings with Transcription Playback mode. You can easily fast-forward and rewind or create cue points in the track to save your place. With Digital Pitch Control, you can slow down the speed of playback for closer listening.
Low-noise S-microphone
The ICD-PX470 has an S-microphone system that will capture distant and quiet sounds without getting excessive background noise. The S-microphone is high-sensitivity and low-noise -- it will capture birds chirping naturally and clearly.
2 Popular File Formats
You can record in either linear PCM or MP3 file format. The PCM format takes more space but captures more detail, making it a good choice for recording music. MP3 files are compressed but need less memory -- they're ideal for long lectures or meetings. You can also play back files in these two formats in music player mode.

Quickly find a file you're looking for with Calendar Search. The calendar marks recordings by date for easy organization.

The Sony ICD-PX470 Digital Voice Recorder has a convenient built-in USB direct connection for fast and simple file transferring. Without needing a USB cable, plug the recorder into a USB port to quickly transfer files.

There are 4 GB of built-in memory in the ICD-PX470, providing a maximum recording time of 59 hours and 35 minutes (in stereo at MP3 128 kbps).
